Johnna Montgomerie is Senior Lecturer in Economics and Deputy Director of the Political Economy Research Centre at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her research interests include finance, debt, macroeconomics and the household sector, money and banking, income distribution, unpaid labour and care. She has a PhD from Sussex and was a research fellow at the Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change (CRESC) at the University of Manchester, and has published widely on the topics of private debt, finance-led growth and the failures of Austerity. She is currently the co-Convenor of the International Political Economy Group (IPEG) and serves on the conference committee for the International Initiative for the Promotion of Political Economy (IIPPE). She uses her expertise in political economy to work with third-sector organisations to develop new strategies and policies for economic renewal.
