Photos of the event can be found on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pef_online\/albums\/72157689985667563\">our Flickr page<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/progressiveeconomyforum.com\/development\/author\/prof-stephany-griffith-jones\/\">Professor&nbsp;Stephany Griffith-Jones<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;(Columbia University, NY; University of Sussex, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/progressiveeconomyforum.com\/development\/council-members\/\">PEF Council<\/a>&nbsp;member)&nbsp;is one of the world\u2019s leading experts on public development banks, having advised several national governments and international organisations, such as the United Nations, World Bank, and European Parliament, on their role in a dynamic economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this special public lecture, co-hosted by PEF and UCL\u2019s&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/bartlett\/public-purpose\/\" target=\"_blank\">Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)<\/a>, Professor Griffith-Jones outlined the case for establishing a public development bank in the UK, drawing from the evidence presented in her most recent book,&nbsp;<em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/global.oup.com\/academic\/product\/the-future-of-national-development-banks-9780198827948?cc=gb&amp;lang=en&amp;\" target=\"_blank\">The Future of National Development Banks<\/a>&nbsp;<\/em>(Oxford University Press, co-edited with Professor Jos\u00e9 Antonio Ocampo). She was joined by the Shadow Chancellor&nbsp;<strong>Rt Hon.
