We were delighted to host an event at the Labour Party conference in Brighton this year on Sunday 26th<\/sup> September 2021 at <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

the Metropole Hotel, Buckingham Suite<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The topic was \u201cA Progressive Recovery\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was chaired by Patrick Allen who introduced PEF and our recently published book, The Return of the State<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rachel Reeves MP , Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer who gave a taster and preview of her main speech to Conference the following day<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester spoke about levelling up for cities like Manchester , especially needed for investment in public transport<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sue Himmelweit, Women’s Budget Group and PEF Council, spoke about the provision and finance of care in the UK<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Grace Blakely, Economist and author<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Josh Ryan-Collins, UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose and PEF Council member<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnna Montgomerie, Professor of International Political Economy, Kings College and PEF Council member<\/p>\n\n\n\n
